I did a top end rebuild on my 1989 2.9 on this forum with new World heads and a new radiator and some other parts because of overheating which turned out to be the gauge/sending unit. My question is that after reading an article about oil not having and additive called ZDDP (several ingredients) since 2006 are these engines safe from excessive wear from today’s oil or do we need to add an aftermarket additive (zddp) ?
