I have a 99 b2500 truck with the 2500cc. it has 225k on it.
any I deal of where there leaks are from. are these promem leakers.
what oil do recomond I should use.:shok:

What area is it leaking from? Front? Back? Top? Bottom? If top, try tightening the bolts for the valve cover as they sometimes work loose, don't go crazy though they just need a couple ftlb (basically just use a nut driver as tight as you can get it). Next I would do the same for the oil pan. If that doesn't do it it's probably a front or rear main seal.

You may want to clean your engine off if it's been leaking for along time. I would clean it with brake parts cleaner. You can also clean it with a pressure washer if your careful. I would follow a pressure wash up with a blast of compressed air the get the water out of any wire connectors. It's easier to pin point the location of a leak on a clean engine. It may also help the use a high mile engine oil like Valvoline Max Life. It has additives to help soften old hard seals. Your engine should call for 5W30 , 10W30 maybe a better choice with the amount of miles on your engine.
