My kid was driving my 02 when he said the oil gauge went nuts. It started to flicker up and down real fast then stopped and looked normal. It apparently a number of times before it dropped down below the lowest point of the gauges range for good. It does raise up a small amount but not even close to being back in the range it's supposed to be. Is it possible to replace just the oil gauge or do I need the entire cluster? Yes the pressure is fine as I hooked up a mechanical gauge I had laying around just to be sure. For my piece of mind I really need to fix this and soon!

I would test the sending unit first since you would have to replace the whole cluster.
