Ohms spec for ignition coil pack? I'm reading 2.4 on new coils

I'm trying to diagnose a coil pack on a 2003 Mazda B3000 with the Ford 3.0 V6. I read the primary resistance on the old unit and it read at 2.4 ohms. The specs I found show 0.3 to 0.9 so I figured this pack was bad.

I bought a new pack and checked the primary resistance on it, and it measured the same thing. This unit was a BWD unit. So I went into Advance Auto and tested one of their Driveworks brand units off the shelf. Same readings.

So can someone confirm the specs on the ohms range for the coil pack primary resistance? Is it more likely my multimeter is at fault here?

Primary loop(coil of wire) has very few turns so has very little resistance, generally speaking any automotive coil will have .4 to 1.2 ohms on the primary coil, so spec. .3-.9 is correct.
0 ohms is no resistance, to test your meter touch the 2 probes together, you should get 0 ohms.

You may also have the ohm setting on meter too high, you want the lowest scale the meter has for testing a primary loop, 200ohm setting is common on many meters.

Since all 3 of the coils in the pack test the same, approx. 2.4, and the new coils do as well then I would say your old coil was fine, meter is off.

Most speakers are low resistance, 4 to 8 ohms, test meter on a speaker, speaker itself should be marked for its expected impedance(resistance)
You could also test a Ford fuel injector, they are low impedance 9-14ohms
