Hey, quick question, my truck seems like it is running a cylinder down, does anyone know the normal resistance on the secondary side on the coil pack. I know it is going to be in the k ohm range, but what range?? Oh, it is a 2001 ranger with the 4.0L sohc not sure if that helps any, if you need the engine vin code let me know.

not sure but is it a muilti coil motor? if so test the other ones and compare.

Yes, there are three coils. If you're one cylinder down, the only thing that could cause that is a broken secondary on that side. Then, its resistance will be infinite. Every other part of the coil is shared with one other cylinder halfway around the firing order.

so it is a shared spark system?? Thank you so much you guys i would have never have thought about that, ya'll are life savers, will let you know if that is the problem.
