I went to the Junk Yard the other and saw these handles. when I bought them I thought they would fit but my truck didn't have any brackets or anything else to screw the handles too. I found some brackets laying around the garage and made it work.

thats kind of neat actually. i take it the handles and trim peices came out of a later model ranger?

tell me your brackets have more than one screw holding them to the a-pillar :shok:

Around here they are called "chicken handles".

around here they are called "save your steering wheel column".

ive replaced several steering columns due to being ripped out of the dash by the driver using the wheel to pull him or herself in. older chevy pickups...especially if they have tilt wheel...are usually the worst.

I bought a special set of tools for rebuilding those Chevy tilt columns. We sold 'em like hot cakes at the junk yard. I never had a comeback.

oh yeah I put six screws in each bracket. I can pick myself up and hang from the handle.

Huh, go figure.......looks like I need to pay more attention when I ride in newer trucks. I need to get me a set of them.

My mothers Expedition and excursion both have that kinda handle, and here we call them "O Shit grips"

What year Ranger did you pull those out of? or was it even a Ranger?

My '98 has them from the factory, maybe they were an option. We used to call the one in my friends Trans Am the "oh my god" handle.
