The other day I finally got my nice clean motor and 5 speed tranny bolted back up and connected. :yahoo: - THEN------I found the little grease packet (unopened) that I was supposed to use on the splined shaft. :shok: Everything is greased and packed where it ought to be except this, and I REALLY don't want to drop the tranny again, but will if I have to to protect my investment. Any ideas? What would you do?

You mean the grease for the splines of the trans input shaft, where the clutch rides?

Forget it. I have never once bothered with it on my own vehicle.

Yup. That's the spot. I kinda thought it was not a big problem, but wasn't completely sure. Thanks for the advice. I've been hitting this swap/restore project for about 10 hrs a day for the last 6 days and it's whoopin' my butt...surely didn't want to drop that bugger again.
