or is it? depends on the person i suppose... but for me, don't think i could do it. i could find a 4x4 f150 used, or a cheaper ranger... i'm just cheap i guess

Car loans are a ripoff. Sure that truck is nice but it will end up costing 20k when the loan's paid off.

Pass on it, put what you'd spend on car payments and insurance in savings and find another one to pay for in cash in a year or two. :icon_thumby:

It's nice to have people like you around. Wisdom is priceless! I get excited real easily, and sometimes buy on impulse.

I have pretty damn good credit, and two vehicles to trade in, so if I can get them down to 10k for a loan, then I think I might go for it. A 10k loan isn't bad at all for that truck. We'll see though.. I've been taken pretty bad by dealerships in the past, so if I feel like they aren't sticking to my guidelines, I'll just walk off.

thats what i am doing...

I've just been there and done that too many times... I used to get extremely excited about buying cars... but that is how the dealers get ya. I have been through so many cars in my life that I don't really care anymore... they're just a big chunk of metal these days.

Be careful with trade ins, you are better off to sell it yourself 100% of the time. Dealers make a crap ton of money off trade ins because they give you thousands of dollars less than what they're actually worth. If you really want the truck, take a couple months and sell what you have, then use the cash from those as a down payment.

I still impulse buy a lot of stuff... mostly tools... I am a tool whore :D

aint we all.... lol
but yeah i realized the trade in thing when the ford placed offered like $1200 for a ranger a buddy of mine was going to trade in, but he decided to sell it himself for $3500, sold in 3 weeks.

That trucks clean! Thats sporty looking too. If everything is as good as it appears to be, I'd say the price is about right.

BTW, what do you think of the blue on the seats? The reason I ask, is because in 2003 I sent a letter to Ford asking if they would bring back the red and blue interior, among other things. About 3 months after that, I got a call from Bill Ford and he basically said, thanks for the letter and we'll look into it. The next model year Ranger had those red and blue center, seats that came with FX4 models. I can't help but wonder if I inspired that, lol.

Thanks for the pics...now I can at least dream a bit clearer on them...but as for going into debt...tough call...if you're employment is good and you can get them down a bit I would go for it...just put as much toward it as you can so you carry less...
