I have cheap wal-mart lights because they break often due to overhanging tree branches on top and ice on front bumper (frozen puddles)

Holy big photo batman!!! :icon_rofl:

But those lights look good! Ya don't see many of us sporting the four up front like that! :headbang: Thats where I'll be mounting all four of my 700's. But I don't want to risk getting them smashed, so I'm building a tube bumper that protects them a bit more than the standard bumper... Once thats finished, its daylight timee!

i just use 100 watt airplane landing lights mounted into those rubber tractor flood light housings. take out the 35 watt floods, put in the 100 watt spots with heavier wiring and add a relay. rubber housing really takes the abuse and those lamps really light up the back roads and trails at night. just a thought.

The Hella 500's (not ff's) come stock with 55 watt bulbs correct? Can you put 100 watt bulbs in them? If so do you have a brand and part number? Thanks in advance, much help.

All those lights (Hella 500, 500ff, 700ff) use H3 bulbs, which can be bought in 55w, 100w, and 130w configurations pretty easily.

You can normally get 100w H3 bulbs at your local Advance, Auto Zone, or Wal Mart... Sometimes you have to snip one little locating pin off of them so they'll fit, but its not difficult at all. Once you get the bulb, you'll see what I mean.

But yea, I'd say that like 95% of the standard auxiliary lights run those H3 bulbs, and they've been that way for years! I've got a pair of 30 year old Hella's that use em!

Edit: Oh and a quick note. Usually anything above 55w is illegal on the road! ;) Just saying. I of course would never run anything brighter than 55w bulbs in mine! ;)

i think these are just the cheaper ones from autozone 100 watts i think they were pretty damn bright! i only got some shitty cell phone pics though

the ones i use are for small private airplanes. 100 watt GE or Phillips bulbs and have never had any problem with them melting anything. another plus is that you can change the pattern. as the filament is around an inch long or so, i can fix it horizontally for more light side-to-side, or vertically for a more narrow light beam down the road. lots of light, cheap.

7-100 watt Aries Flamethrowers (dont think they make these anymore).

Do those eBay lights work decently?

I would definitely reccomend them for the price. I have the 130 watt version and there pretty bright. Bright enough for me anway. Definitely light up the road.

Do you have a link to them? I was looking at getting a 150w set, but since they are off-brand lights, I didnt know if they would work good. Do they shine down the road pretty far?
