Official time of death was 504,710 miles :-(

Besides the shifter knob, this is all I have left of Old Blue.

The front grill emblem.

This is what forged ahead face in the wind, leading the way for over half a million miles and 20yrs with me behind the wheel.

Hop in the "time machine" and go back 20yrs, this is Old Blue in her prime.

Probably in the first week of bringing her home, the dealership sticker is still above the tailgate handle.

Couldn't imagine a more proud new truck owner. She got washed weekly, and waxed monthly for the first several years.

.....what a great run it has been.

She is sure pretty ! ! !

I agree that TOTM nomination would only be fitting given her faithfull service! Sure was pretty back in the day.

Nice job. Do you have anywhere in particular you are putting it?

I have the key from my 91 Explorer on my keyring still, and my Dad's 83 Camaro (the first car I ever had the keys to).

The Camaro key comes in handy when I have an itch in my ear.

If you get another Ford you should take off the new emblem and put that one on.

TOTM sounds like a good idea too. Quick, make a build thread!

Was thinking the exact same thing. Looking at used Rangers this week on CraigsList. Probably going to be a 97-03 or so, gotta be a 5 speed and Ext Cab. Engine size is negotiable, as is 2wd/4wd.

But it crossed my mind.... Why not put that emblem back on the front grill of the new (to me) truck and "pass the torch"? ;)

The spirit of Old Blue may roll down the road once again... :)

Perusing through CL for Rangers, I even came across some later-year models that were Bright Blue!
Wouldn't that be cool to find Old Blue version 2.0?

But I realize that there is no replacing the awesomeness that once was with the old girl.
Autopilot is a very tough option to find in a new truck. Old Blue always knew the way home.

No replacing, only starting another chapter.

Sorry for your loss.

RIP old blue...

You've got my vote for TOTM
