Official RBV Tool and Part Kit thread

added metric, standard, and adjustable wrenches

Anyone mention a 15mm socket for the nuts that hold the spindle on??

The plug kits only work good on a small puncture like taking a nail to the tire. The starter fluid trick works pretty good, I've seen it done before.

Ive seen in one of the big name magazine, FOR EMERGENCIES ONLY you can get away with up to twelve plugs in a puncture safely enough to get you out of the woods.

I have every tool I own in my truck which equates to a tool bag and tool box. I have a tote with other repair equipment, grease gun, tire pump, I keep a sleeping bag and a small coleman grill with two propane tanks. And I have a milk crate with any fluids I might need, especially 1 gallon of oil. Power steering fluid, tranny fluid hydraulic fluid( for the jack or other whatevers. And in the bed I keep a 2.5 ton heavy duty floor jack (since I dont have a hi-lift.)

Is there anyway to eliminate double posts, organize this and sticky it? JIM? Or mods? Or maybe copy a retype it and then sticky one detailed post?

I didn't look through all 3 pages yet but the list is missing important stuff like

A Breaker bar!

and a 3 foot Cheater bar on top of that!.

Cannot stress enough how important those two are.

I carry:

- a good set of tools (everything I have ever needed to fix something in the woods. Not going into further details.)
- tarp
- hatchet
- bow saw
- big knife
- small knife
- machete
- usually carry a chainsaw, 1 gallon of gas, and bar oil, and a scrench
- 4 way lug wrench
- mechanic's wire
- at least 2 quarts of every fluid
- tape
- rope
- 20' 4" recovery strap
- 2 d-ring shackles
- smaller recovery or tow strap
- high lift
- hydraulic bottle jack
- several short pieces of 2x4
- hammer
- cheater pipe
- lots of gloves
- ratchet straps, bungee cords, etc
- shovel
- jumper cables
- winch jumper cables
- rags
- spray lubricants & cleaners

As far as parts go -

- hubs - how many I carry depends on how many I have on hand
- front shafts - same as hubs
- TFI
- coil->distributor wire
- couple of front and rear u-joints
- 2.9 lower radiator hose
- battery cable ends
- tire repair supplies

But then you'd have to carry spare parts and tools for the trailer too. Damn this just keeps on growing.

i know i was thinking that but i was waiting for somebody else to mention that.

next you will need a spare truck to tow the trailer in case your truck breaks

god what have i started haha , i think we need to compile everything into one list and i will put it in the first post and maybe a mod could sticky it

There is really a lot more a person can carry, and I honestly have a lot more than I listed. What you need or should carry depends on if you're wheeling it or just driving. Mine sees a lot of time in the rocks so axle and suspension parts are what I focus on.

ok , so lets get an official RBV tool kit thread goin , as the posts go along i will update the list in the first post
