we actually get our fair share of snow here and I am lazy and refuse to shovel the driveway.

you'll still have 4wd. a driveway that gets driven on on a daily basis doesnt get that much powder on it. it stays packed down fairly well.

if i can survive 2 alaskan winter with a 2wd s-10 and 3 mis-matched tires...i think a lowered 4x4 would do ok.

ya that makes sense. i guess my brain hasnt switched on yet this morning. the newer generation ('05? '06 and up?) uses a six lug pattern...but 97-04 should all be the same.

97-03, and the 04 Heritage (pretty rare) are all the same truck. The new bodystyle came out in 04 with 6 lugs but they ran the old bodystyle beside them for the first year, predictably the new bodystyle stole the limelight.

5.4 trucks got the 9.75, all others got the 8.8. 99+ had disc brakes if you are interested in that.
