Not sure where this thread needs to be but i want to install 2 lights just in behind the grille. Does anybody know off hand who's done it what size will fit. I don't have the truck right now for a little bit so I can't go out and measure it now. Also do you think it blocks airflow to the intake?

I wouldn't install lights behind the grille unless they are really small otherwise you'll block airflow to the radiator and possibly overheat your engine, the intake is behind your headlight so that's no the problem, mount them on your bumper or on a light bar

does anybody know where I could find just a discrete looking lightbar to keep me from having to drill into the bumper?

I have just done that to my '03 xlt. i used a set of hella 500 series lamps, got them at walmart for $60.00, made in japan but, they work aweseome. what i did was drill into the fiberglass radiator support from the top down. and mounted the lights upside down. i measured to the center which i believe was 27 3/4", then i went 8 1/2" inches from center on each side. that puts the lights nice and center in the grille. i am working on geting some pics together and maybe make a good in depth write up. you will have to remove the headlights and grille to do this. it was pretty easy, it took me longer to run all the wires. i was done in about 2 hours.

good point, that's what I figured. I've seen the setup a few times and I like how clean it looks. I wouldn't mind putting them on the bumper but i dont wanna drill into that pretty chrome to mount. LIGHT BAR

Carr Light Wing. Mounts to the license plate holes in the bumper and lets you mount 2 lights.

The "Lightwing" is the way to go. I searched for years for a simple, affordable mount. I have "Lightwings" on both my trucks. If I wern't so lazy, I would have welded up my own, though.

All i read about is hella's being made in mexico or Taiwan... i have 4 sets of 500's and each say "made in Germany" so, where are all these Mexican and Taiwanese hella's being sold??? and to be honest i think my "made in Germany" hella's are a better made product
