I pulled codes from my 94 4.0L in a B series. I first get a faint flash of the CEL -a pause- then a Bright 335 -pause- then it repeats 335. Then I get 1 bright flash -a pause- followed by a 332 -pause- 542 -pause- which both repeat one more time then nothing else. Am I reading the flashes right? I don't see numbers this high on lists I find so figuring I'm reading them wrong. TIA-****found a bigger list with 3 digit codes**** sorry for post.

Did you do any repairs try erasing the memory and resetting the computer, to erase the memory do the KOEO test and when it starts flashing codes disconnect the jumper then disconnect the battery negative for 15 minutes to reset the computer. Then run it at medium speeds for 20 minutes to set new values and run the codes again. You must do this after any repair to confirm the repair. One bad part can give multiple codes so fix one code at a time always the lowest number first 332 possibly EGR fault pull the EGR and inspect/clean it if possible or replace. Erase the memory reset the computer, run the engine 20 mins and pull the codes again. Do that until you get 111-1-111

Thanks guys- While testing EGR earlier in day I left off vacuum line so that gave me code for that. I cleared computer by pulling neg batt cable and stepping on brake for 15-20 seconds. Drove truck for a short run and pulled codes again. I got 335 and a 522 followed by one flash then 3 single flashes which repeat then nothing. 332 and 542 are gone. EGR(335) is still suspect in my backfiring and bucking problem. Only repair work was replacing exhaust gaskets at manifolds and took EGR off intake to make room. I'm sick, it's raining, will try again tomorrow.

I gave you a link for the codes click on it it is in the tech library To test the egr while it is ideling apply vacuum to the egr valve either use a vacuum pump or suck on the line the engine should stall. I`m not sure about how you reset the computer I know disconnecting the battery for 1/2 an hour works. But you didnt say you cleared the memory.
