with a wrench :icon_twisted::yahoo::icon_rofl:......sorry couldn't resist.

there is sockets that are designed for O2 sensors...they tend to be a touch tall, leaving very wiggle room.

I had good luck unplugging the O2 sensor, (ya gotta do it anyway), then thread the plug thru the box end of a combination hand wrench...with it angled between the pipes. Once you get it to move about a rev or so it usually spins out by hand. One of those ratchet box wrenches with a flex head would be pretty slick...but pricey.

Saw and/or break off the sensor so it is NOT tall. (I used a hacksaw blade saw.) Use a high quality, short, 1/2" drive, 6-sided socket (not a 12-sided socket). Soak the seam with a good penetrating fluid for 1 to 2 days prior. Use a 1/2" ratchet with a long handle or cheater pipe. I found that taking these steps first on my 87 BII likely saved me a LOT of hassles compared with dealing with stripped flats from using cheap tools.
