Where do the sensor 2 wires begin? What colors are they? I have looked under my Ranger and they are non existant. There is a sensor, minus any wiring in the exhaust. There is a short somewhere that I need to trace.

Sounds like you found it. If there's no wires coming off the 02 sensor from cat then boom that's your short.

I am also trying to troubleshoot my obd2 problem... Can't pull codes from it.

Bilzy7, there are no wires after the first O2 sensor, therefore it makes it harder to trace my problem. does your obd have power? I pull codes from several vehicles a day, the most common reason I cant pull the code right away is simply a blown fuse.

Ya I did all my fuses and it is a power issue as my lighter is also out which would point to a blown fuse but I replaced all fuses in door fusebox and engine bay fuse box. All 5-30 amp fuses. Big ones and box style ones I haven't touched. Both my 02 sensors from cats have wires going into them. Weird there isn't a hanging wire for you to trace.

Pull your lighter out completey. Those do go bad too, and yours could have an internal short. Or, if yours is anything like mine, I had several bad, bare, and melted wires behind my in cab fuse panel. In my Full Size Blazer I couldnt make my horn work, until I replaced the lighter, b/c it kept blowing the fuse....

If you were to trace the wires from the second o2 sensor, where do they end up? I am pretty sure when I fix those I wont blow the fuse.

Hmm watching my son. My next cigarette I will go outside and trace wires as far as I can and take a pic. Hmmm. Good idea I'll have to look behind fuse panel. I did pull radio out and checked there and everything was fine.

I'm about to upload pics, but the second sensor on passenger side ties into the wiring above tranny and follows tranny and goes up on the passenger side. It's all taped/wire loomed together so I can't follow individual wires, but the wire from second 02 sensor plugs in less then a foot from it above transmission. Photos coming.

Ammm, I never really checked mine I just know of the drivers side one by battery.

after that it all ties together into a thick pair of wires and goes up along passenger side. its easy to trace from their i couldnt get good enough photos from engine bay of top end.
hope this helps.

It seems mine are different. '95 2.3 5sp I cannot see after they reach the top of my trans. Reaching up, I felt several wires entering the loom, so tracing would be more like guessing. A FSM or a good schematic would be good. I'll have to call someone with alldata and see if he can get some info.

Mirror to see up there? Maybe an open connector or connector with loose wires.

I "think" I found the second plug... Next to the speed sensor there is a harness that looks identical to the the other that leads to the front sensor. FYI driver side... no exhaust there; why is the plug there?
