i have 96 4x4 ranger with 2.3l. recently i discovered the upstream o2 sensor was cut clean off on the truck side and lost the connector with it. i ordered a new connector from napa but the wires are different colors than the ones on the truck. does anyone know what color to connect to which?

http://www.oldfuelinjection.com/?p=31 scroll to bottom for connector.

O is 12v in Start or Run
Rd/LG goes to PCM Pin 35 signal
LB/O is power from fuse HEGO
WH/BK to PCM pin 95 HEGO ground

All that ^ is from 2000 EVTM, all I have to refer to.

sorry it took me so long to respond. if you are looking at the connector the colors are top left-green/red, top right-black/white, bottom left-peach, bottom right-black. the colors on the wire harness on truck side are red/white, orange, blue/orange, blue. i think the blue wire is blue possibly gray, they are faded. thanks

Connections of the O2 can differ greatly from application to application. There are no diagrams or schematics that offer a universal answer to the question. In fact the improper wiring of the O2 sensor could fry the ECM. Careful here!

the link didnt help because it doesnt tell me the colors on the wire harness on the truck side, but thanks anyways. Guess i will just take it to ford and see if one of their mechanics can help me figure it out.

Alright guys i got it figured out. I went to ford dealership and a mechanic found the wire diagram after some major searching. Got it hooked back up and seems to be running good so far. I will try to post picture of diagram if i can get it figured out.
