I have a 2002 Ranger XLT 4x4 with a 4.0 L V6 SOHC with automatic transmission
My O/D light started flashing shortly after I used my 4wd Lo to get out of a snow bank. I turned off 4wd Lo and switched to 2wd and a few minutes later my O/D light began to flash. I did not notice any problems shifting and as soon as I turned off my car and turned it back on the O/D light turned off. The light didn't turn back on after driving for 20 minutes and shifting through all gears perfectly fine. I know the O/D light is associated with a bad tranny, the local dealer said tranny codes are not stored so whatever the problem was i have to wait for the light to flash again. Any suggestions or ideas?
