Nut/Bolt size for axle pivot and radius arms.

I am rebuilding my front end on my ranger. Looking for what size the bolts are for the radius arms and axle pivots.

Axle pivots are 14mm

Lower radius arm bolts are 3/4 and upper bolt/studs are 3/4 and 5/8

What about the large bolt on the end of the radius arm? And do you know about the axle pivot bolt?

A propane torch to soften and release the Loctite Ford puts on them, particularly on the radius arm-to-axle bolts.

X2 with the heat!

I rounded mine off, ground it down to the next size, rounded that off, ground it down again and broke a 1" box end wrench.

How hard is the job to do without removing the radius arm from the axle?

How hard is the job to do without removing the radius arm from the axle?

The stud nut is on the top side and you should have clear access once the spring is removed. It's threaded into, basically an extrusion of the stamped axle beam. As long as you can poke the end of a propane torch about where the stud pokes through you should be good. Pulling the differential might make things a little easier. You might get it through the knuckle opening.

Side note, If you're pulling the diff, there is also a stud that runs vertically almost up against the radius arm that clamps on the differential, you may break the thin edge of the slot where it goes through the differential. It'll be fine when you put it back in, it's pretty common, it may already be missing.

Got most of the parts. Need to get a few socks and spray the hell out of the bolts. Teardown next weekend.
