For some reason my battery is not charging. I have replaced the alternator once, and battery twice! I haven't drove it for a week do to the brake booster being out. Why won't this think stay charged?

PS It is an 86 for ranger 2wd v6
 
you more than likely have a wire shorting to ground i suggest you disconnect your battery isolating it from ground then go through your fuse panels and test each circuit to ground and make sure every switch is in the off position that way you can identify whats shorting to ground.

I am learning more and more about working on vehicles from this truck and this site! I will have to get a volt meter, and then learn how to use it! Why not though, it is going to be a lot cheaper than going to a mechanic!
