Today I went to my favorite Autowreckers and saw a bunch of things that made me go Hmmm:icon_confused: If I put 4 dr Explorer Front coil springs onto my "87 BII would I get much of a lift? Or none at all?? I saw where some of those Rangers coil springs were an extra coil longer and thought that, Maybe it might raise it up. But dont know. Hopefully some one can let me know. I did however read somewere on TRS that Explorer rear springs might raise the back end up about 1.5 - 2 " in the back.

Is this true?

Should get about 1" lift from Explorer coils on your BII, about 2" from Ex leafs.

yep thats what i ended up with.:icon_thumby:

Well thats all Im really hopping for. I haven't got any blocks in there as of right now so Im even thinking of going with those 2" coil spacers and I salvaged up some 2" rear blocks. So when I go and put it all together do you guys think that I may end up with something like 4 in the back and 3 in the front? Or am I going to screw it all up?? Im honestly not looking for a lot of lift, And dont want to screw it up. Im also going to be putting on a winch bumper and winch so theres going to be some added weight to the front of the truck there.
I was told to compensate for the added weight that it might just as well be a good idea to add those spacers.
I know this same question has been asked about 10,000 different times from others but please allow me to be the 10,001 person to ask what you guys think??
As a side note Ill be running the 28 for this summer till I can afford to fix the 35 & 8.8 up with a locker and 4:10's
Thanks A.W.

i plan on doing the explorer leaf spring swap (got a 95 ranger and a 99 totalled explorer with no engine or tranny(went to the ranger)) and ive hear combining the leaf springs from both rigs works good and can provide 3.5-4 inches of lift in the rear.

Well now Ive got the coils and leafs. Ive got to flip that centre bolt on the leafs and the then Ive got to try and find some coil spacers Which I havent been able to find as of yet. Now as for shocks are my stock shocks going to work or do I need some good shocks from an Ex??

With spacers I would look for shocks that are a bit longer (by about 1-2" or so).

As for the spacers go Get the Daystar leveling spacers. these will give you about 1 3/4" of lift in the front, but if you combine those with the coils. you will have a slightly positive wheel angle even after your alignment. because your stock bushings are only good for about 2 inches. correct me if im wrong. so you may want to look into finding some used drop brackets.

I would use metal spacers (or some washers stacked under the coil seats). Poly spacers don't hold up well under the immense spring pressure on a TTB suspension (they're known to crush and disintegrate).

Haha, forum meeting. Arctic Wolf do Explorer leafs in the rear and Belltech shackles (my review here http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42442 ) and use those F 150 coil spacers and maybe if you can find good Explorer coils..... though I am going to put Ex coils in my wifes stock 91 STX and the add a leaf from my spring pack when I switch to Ex leafs.

I agree, metal spacers or washers.

I have used the poly spacers, and they have cracked and broken down, and it didn't take very long.

Just make you get an alignment afterwords, or your Camber will be fawked.:icon_thumby:
