This is more of a drive shaft question. Ijust recently had to replace the carrier bearing on my 89 2 wheel drive 2.9 ranger and the universal joint just behind it. When the problem first started it felt like a belt broke in a tire. I replace the bearing and the universal and the vibration didnt go away. WTF could it be? I didnt mark the drive shaft when I took it out. I unbolted it from the rear end and pulled it out of the tranny and did it on the bench. when i put it back in the drive shaft looks straight and everything is tight. Now the vibration starts at 40 and goes to about 50. Thats where it is real bad. it never fully goes away above 50 but is drivable. I drive this truck about a 125 miles a day and vibration drives me nuts. I kind of checked the tires but dont think thats what it is. What do you guys think.
