So last night at my high school football game, our star running back broke his arm. he was off balance from breaking a tackle and went to put his arm down to help himself back up and snapped it. if you have seen scarred where the skateboarders forearm is bent it half, exactly how it was. I blame it on the coach, because we were up 21 to 0 in the 3 quarter. i would have taken him out because our defense was stopping them all game. and it wasnt even a league game! it was a bye week but our coach had a game for homecoming. So we are not even half way through the season and he was 2 TD's away from breaking the school record. what you all think? blame the coach?

Blame the coach only if he has a crystal ball that allows him to see the future, knowing the guy was going to break his arm, and kept him in the game anyway. It's football. Guys get hurt. You can't just not play them because there's a chance they might get hurt. A 21-0 lead can turn into a deficit real quick. How would the coach look if he benched a star for no reason and the other team made a run? He'd look like a bad coach.

Nobody is to blame for a freak accident.

EDIT: I somehow missed where you mentioned it was a bye week. I understand your argument, but I still stick by what I said, since the same scenario could have played out if it were a real game. Who knows? Maybe if he didn't break his arm when he did, he would have been hurt a lot worse in the next real game.
