(Not an RBV) My Dakota.

Well the boost leak was the BOV, increased the pre-load on the spring, it helped with the slight hiss I would get when free revving it, haven't driven it yet to see if it still leaks under real boost.

But now my radiator is leaking, fawk me. Looks like the original though, not bad for 243,000 miles.

Great work! Glad to see it is all working out. I have been wanting to do this to my stang for a while now, just scared of it all!

There is so much stuff out there for turbo mustangs it isn't even funny, don't be scared of it, just jump in and do it!

Yeah, maybe one of these days....maybe after my truck is done!

Decided to give Megasquirt another try and ordered a MS1 kit today, the FMU isn't cutting it.

Here's a decent video Chris, found out my Droid picks up the turbo sound very well compared to my camera.
(Not an RBV) My Dakota.

ill record it for you!

Cmon man... Turbo your BII already...You know driving a BII with a 4.0 at 12 psi is going to give you more of an adrenaline rush than that dakota V8 on ANY boost...

MS1 showed up today, soldered it all up and it's working and connecting to my PC, can't wait to get this puppy in the truck and start tuning!

Awesome dakota man!

You have an estimate on total cost? Im thinking about turboing my 350 in my sierra and looking for a figure. Are those kits on ebay shitty? They generally go for 900-1300 or so.

Yeah the ebay kits are junk.

Best estimate right now is somehwere around $2500, I'm sure I'll have more in it to get Megasquirt up and running (need 42lb injectors $$$) but I'll be able to sell off the FMU and pump for $2-300.

Truck died last night about 3 miles from home. Spent half the day hunting down why I wasn't getting spark, ended up being the damn coil, suppose I can't complain for 244,000 miles...

Messed with Megasquirt tonight, got the MS2/Extra firmware loaded up, pillaged a couple injector harness from a couple 2.3 rangers I have sitting around. Maybe if the weather is nice and I'm ambitious tomorrow I'll try and get the MS box hooked up and see if I can run the truck!

Got the MS installed in the truck yesterday, wiring wasn't bad at all, 2-3 hours, almost got it to run with it but not quite, the lack of an IAT sensor is my problem I think, I'll try messing with it tonight.

#1 rule with Megasquirt: Don't be a ****ing idiot!!!!

So I relocated a couple grounds and that seemed to fix the resetting issue I was having.

Attempted to run the truck again with no luck, so I decided to see if the injectors were getting power... Guess what? They weren't!! The wire I was supposed to tap into was Green/orange, I tapped into a Green/red wire, doh!!! Fixed that mistake and BAM, fired right the **** up!!!!

I am a colossal tool.

Now I've got some tuning to do and after I get the hang of it I'll acquire some 42lb injectors and I should be in business!

It's so awesome to get shit like this done, not many people can say they have a standalone computer running their engine and can tune it infinitely with a laptop, the possibilities are endless!

slobbering turbo v8 blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh

I LOVE BOOST...............
