i just got a tach for my truck first time i have ever had a tach in my truck and it idles at around 1100 in park when i put it into drive it will hit 1k is that about right

There should be a sticker under the hood that tells you the idle rpm. that sounds a little high though.

Usually a manual vehicle idles around 900rpm, an auto vehicle will idle between 600-800rpm... Check and see if you have a leaky vac hose somewhere...

i was thinking it was a little high too what else can i look at i checked a my vac hoses there good

Did you make sure to check all of them? It sounds like it might be just a crack or one not sealing well...

would that be the only solution to this problem ill check them again

No, but it would be the most common... Why go through the trouble and expense of replacing something when all it is is a $4 hose or something?

well its just i checked everything and it all looks good so i was wondering if it was anything else
do you think it could just be my tach?
