I'm leaning towards a full rebuild but I just priced it and its over 600 with the synchros. For another 600-800 I can get it done with a warranty. But that's more money than I've got.

Monroe Transmission. My family has used them for all of our transmission problems for 30yrs+, never had a single complaint, referred all my friends there, and never had a complaint, but have had plenty of rave reviews. They are not always the absolute drop dead cheapest, but they are hands down the best

Haha I can definitely relate. I had to rebuild my last tranny myself because of that...

Yep if it wasn't over 600 for just the damn kit I would. That's too much money to take a chance with for me.

I could definitely see that. When mine went, it stripped 3 teeth off of 3rd gear, but the rest of the tranny was brand new (literally, it had less than a couple thousand miles on it), so I just bought a new 3rd gear, the cluster, synchros, and maybe a couple other things for like $150

Anybody know where I can get just a cab? Drives fine...I drove to Taco Bell then home after wards and nothing suspension wise is injured...wheels still true too

That bites. I don't have any extra cab rangers lying around, otherwise I would offer. You could do what you can to get a windshield to seal and doors to close, that way you have some battle scars That's what I did with mine. I even got a free windshield, because my insurance already scheduled my windshield to get replaced because of a crack...

Yeah gonna do that or just buy another Ranger similar year or slightly newer and do a cab swap...just can't let her go especially since she runs, AC works good, heater works good and I just spend $800 on the tranny

im down in fresno, and Ill be going up to sac next week for a few days, if wanna make it happen let me know, ill drive it up and drop it off. I am already gonna be towing my civic back up to sac on a trailer. water pump is shot, it leaks out as fast as I put fluid in and I dont have any tools down here not to mention I think the hotel my work put me up in would give me the boot ifI had my car in pieces in the parking lot. pretty sure my ranger will tow it up to sac just fine. its all flat to sac from here.
