well Ive already got a use for the axle it might go in the truck for now just gotta come up with a wielder to flip spring perches but i am going to get the the Mazda on sat my buddies picking it up for me i am gonna be in red bluff getting my other rear end lol but if there is any little things any of you guys need let me know ill have a shit load of spare parts im sure

It depends on how you want it done.
If you have a new set of perches that just need to be welded on, or if you do the prep work(cutting and cleaning up the old perches), I'll do it for free.
If I have to do the cutting and grinding, $50.

haha nice! oh by the way everyone, randys truck is back in action, going to prairie tomorrow (actually today) to test out the doubler and work out the kinks. will have video and pics monday night.
 
tom how do you get the pinion angle correct? do you just place the spring perch where it needs to be and bolt it to the springs then adjust? or do you have the tools to set the degree?
 
you place the perches on the axle then bolt the axle up loosely then you stick one of these angle finders (cheap and can find em all over)

on the housing part that is the same angle as the pinion. then you figure out what your output shaft on your t-case is at and try to get your pinion within 1-2* I believe. then tack the perches on and take it the u bolts off and burn the perches on. remember when welding on the axle to take your time and dont heat up the housing too much or you will warp it. if you have a lot of welding, take a lot of breaks and let it cool.

What Ben said basically. The only tool you need is an angle finder. And a flat spot on the housing that is parallel to the pinion.

There are a few other methods too. If you are just swapping axles, not lifting, lowering, or changing the wheel base you can just pull the angle from the old axle.

If you're good, you can eyeball it. Most people can see a variance of a couple of degrees. But laying under a truck looking up at it can be difficult.

eh it happens. gotta find something soon I guess... found out im screwed on unemployment. im only getting 71 bucks a week. guess Im not dark enough to qualify for all the good stuff.
