Nor Cal chat thread

yup all that. but cant you put in new axleshafts and change the lug pattern? i get thats not practical but is it possible?

Thanks for the welcome! its taken me a while to find a satisfying forum and i appreciate the input. i would like to do it myself with minimal fabrication. I want to use my stock spring towers, but heres my main concern, would my shocks bolt directly from the towers to the radius arms if i use a c-wedge d44? do i need to fabricate my own radius arms? And what would i get the steering out of? would i have to do something with the brake lines? what coils would i use?

And what about the rear axle? i would like to keep it a little lower in the rear, not by much though. what do you advise?

this is my first sas so easy would be best and i have a small budget, thanks

OK well fabrication is mandatory. The sas isn't cheap. You can keep your steering box. The most direct swap would be a 75-77 ford bronco Dana 44 but its pricey. The bronco springs will work and you will want to make your own radius arms but you can use the factory c wedges and such. Its a big project. For the rear you can get blocks and shackles to lift it where you want it. I would get a 9 inch rear axle to match or get adapters to match the front pattern and width

So who wants to start converting their ride into alcohol with me? I have been looking at the conversion... could be cool. Aaaaaaand cheap.

where do you buy that? not the conversion, the fuel.

Dayne how did the lift turn out? Pics?

It turned out pretty good. I had to do a little modification cause I had some pretty good axle rub, but all in all didn't take too long. Ill try to post some pictures..

morg its basically a flex fuel on crack. you brew your own fuel. e85 is 15 % ethanol (alcohol) so making it run on higher percent ethanol means cheaper. plus you can run it on regular fuel too.

look around.

I wonder if a flex fuel will run on it

Yes it will. Not sure if flex fuel will run on a higher % ethanol. I wanna get that book.

thats cool man.

To bad in a week I'm pulling the flex fuel motor

Okay wes, I tried to post some pictures, but I apparently fail at posting pictures..... It keeps just showing a fail thumbnail...

Are you putting the pics on photobucket first?

No chico for me tomorrow
