Nor Cal chat thread

Yeah I have been reading reviews and problems with them. Most of the 14s are good. The 2.0 eco boost motor is good don't want the 2.5 but the Mazda is a good buy if I can find one. Mazda will probably out live the escape by a long shot.

I haven't worked on to many new escapes. The early body style escapes are junk.
When are doing the d60 swap?

As soon as I can. Been busy with car stuff with allison and that's kinda where all my free money is going. Need to make a list of what I still need. Those parts are all sand blasted and ready for paint. My dad said I could borrow his gun that pulls sand from a bag to blast the axle for paint if I want. I know I need lug nuts and a hub still. Also need arp studs for the steering arms.

That sand blaster would be sweet. I have a spare Hub you can have

Sweeeeet. Ok so I just need to figure out the lug thread so I can order a set.

I should be picking up a sandblaster tomorrow. Needs a little work.

Morg they are sweet. Lots of uses and sanding sucks so yeah.

Ordered a full set of lug nuts so I think that's basically the last real thing I needed.

Hey wes I'm thinking about maybe swapping to an auto to be able to crawl with my current gearing. Know where I could find a doner?

I will check the junk yard

I'm trying to think of everything I'll need. tranny, torque converter, flex plate, I'll need the computer right? And I'll have to make some sort of tranny cooler. Anything else? It would be nice to get a spare t case then I can use the planetaries in a doubler since I already have a manual case in it.

I have an auto tranny cooler you can have since im not using it. Id sell you a trans but its 2wd and obd2.

I am gonna find some sort of big ass cooler so I can make my fluids last as long as possible. Crawling is hard on tranny fluid. Especially when under geared.

So Apperently no one comes on here anymore but my explorer is basically done with phase one. Cleaned up the front end, geared the axles, locked the rear, new steering linkage and got it on some tires with tread.

Now it's time to wheel it. Next phase is a bit of body armor and save up for a front locker and doubler.

No pictures? Lol
Good to hear you've gotten her going!
