Nope

CAI’s are usually considered inferior to the stock Ranger intake that pulls ambient air from behind the grille. CAI’s pull air from the warm/hot engine compartment air. The stock intake delivers more air than the truck needs, there’s no restriction in air supply.

While the stock intake may not be a true bottleneck restriction... Aftermarket intakes do generally net an increase in flow simply because it has an "easier" path to squeeze through.

That being said.. any gains will be way outside the range of rpms that daily drivers (especially trucks) see 99% of the time. For a daily driver or a real "truck stuff" truck.. gaining 15hp & tq at 5200 rpm is utterly useless.

And as @Jazzer said... What youd be buying is actually a hot air intake.. which would give you less "truck stuff" performance not only thanks to hot air being less dense with oxygen than cool air.. but also thanks to the relation between IATs and ignition timing.

A set of aluminum wheels would be a much better use of money, if the truck isn't wearing some already.
