noob in nova

I'm looking for part number 6L5Z5B329A
It's the nut for the torsion adjuster

My local ford part department says it backordered with not estimated date

Any ideas?

Also will messing with the torsion bars to give height kill my alignment?

officially, yes, torsion crank will mess your alignment, unofficially, i've been running with a torsion crank for a year, and noticed no uneven wear on the tires... though i would greatly like to get my alignment done, only reason i haven't so far, i have a broken ball joint

So get my alignment done after torsion crank? Also in that diagram I'm looking for part 9. Anywhere u can suggest to find? All the dealerships are backordered

why do you need a new one? i'm told you can get them at a local hardware store... there's discussion of people going in and getting longer ones, which is used for over maxing the t-bars, if you've got a second vehicle, i would take one of the bolts out completely (count the turns!!!) and take it to a fastener store... we've got one here that can sell you damn near any bolt you want, any head, any material, any thread any size, any rating... almost all of them in stock...

New issues

So I decided it was time to go bigger and get some 35's and they fit fine... Will fit better once I get my 3inch body lift hopefully sometime next week (taking way to long to ship out) :icon_bounceblue:

Don't worry I cranked the t-bars back up and it sits level now

So now time for alignment

As you can see it's pretty off!
Now I brought it up to this place were my truck was the smallest in the bays ;brownbag;for alignment and to see if they could diagnose why my wheels are bowed out

After a full checkup they reported back saying they could not do the alignment
due to the play in the driverside inner and putter tie rod ends.

They offered to fix for fix for 365 with parts and labor. I feel like that is a little steep. Is this something I can do myself?.... I'm not that mechanically inclined ( I do my brakes oil, put on the shackle lift etc and plan to put on my body lift myself but that's really about it).

If this isn't too hard to do where do I start for parts? Do these typically come as a set or individual? Any brands / stores to stay away from? Do I need a special tool? Cuz I've watched a few YouTube videos and some used the tie rod separator others used just a hammer.

Once this is done will the alignment be something that will fix the bowed tires?

Any help will be very appreciated!

unless i'm mistaken... you shouldn't have inner tie rod ends... i'm 99% sure you have rack and pinion, which uses a rack, and outer tie rod ends... you can change them at home, though if you do, make sure you get an alignment the day you finish...

quite honestly, stay away from the cheap companies, i would go with MOOG, i've actually got a moog upper control arm/ball joint, showing up at my house today... they are more money, but much better parts...

when you change it, take the tie rod end off of the wheel, i would honestly pound the crap out of the bolt, to knock it back... down? through the hole... heat wouldn't be a bad idea either... once it's out, remove the tierod end from the tie rod, by unscrewing it... there will probably be a turnbuckle, remove as little of these parts as possible, (don't move the turn buckle) when you do remove it, count very carefully, how many turns it took to unscrew it, and make sure your new one goes in the exact same number of times, this will give you the best likely hood that your alignment is the same as it was, which is not too far off... then put the "bolt" on the end of the end, back up through the other part, and put the nut on

like this, remove only the red part, not the collar the red part goes into

if you turn that collar, it will change the alignment, and wear your tires out faster by either giving you toe in, or toe out

The cab's body lift is finally done!

finished lifting the cab today.... huge pain in my ass...

so now i'm sitting up on 4 inch super lift, 2 inch shackle lift + crank lift, 3 inch boldy lift, all rolling on 35's

Get that box lifted! It's like a 20 minute job! (ok maybe an hour)
