No start after sitting all summer

Fuel pump turning on for 2 seconds when you switch the key on?

Welcome to TRS :)

"Bad gas"
Bad gas is when there is too much water in gasoline
All gasoline has some water mixed in, it comes from storage tanks, condensation

Gasoline and water can't mix/bond together
Water is heavier than gasoline
So when the gasoline(with water) sits in a container, like a gas tank, for a longer period, ALL the water settles at the bottom of the container(gas tank)

On a vehicle the fuel pump pulls the "fuel" from the very bottom of the gas tank..........................
So you could be trying to start engine with mostly water :)
Which of course won't ignite/burn
Priming with good fuel and getting a start up means Spark is working and timed correctly
But fuel from the Rangers fuel system is either not coming in via injectors, OR its not "fuel"

Ethanol can bond with water, that's why it is used as a fuel line anti-freeze(winter fuel)
Products like HEET or BOOST are ethanol additives that can help get rid of water in the gas tank because it bonds with the water AND it can be ignited and burned after doing so, so avoids the no start or stumbling issue associated with water in the gas tank, up to a point, lol

If you can HEAR the fuel pump working, runs for 2 seconds with EACH key on, then pump is not the issue

Then you may want to dump 5gallon can of gasoline(10% ethanol) in the tank, this will do two things, it will move the water from bottom of tank, stir it up, and the ethanol will help clear up some of the water in the tank

You would still have the water that has been sucked in, in the filter, hoses and engine fuel rail
So I would Prime the engine as before, and keep it running by continuing to "prime it" until it starts to run on its own

The only thing I might add:
Is there adequate fuel in the tank to reach the pump?
Especially if it's parked on an incline.
