No spark

Have a slight problem,my buddy and I pulled the motor out of my truck,'87 ranger w/2.9 and now it's getting absolutley no spark.It ran fine before that.I plugged everything up right,ground wires connected,etc.I repleced the ign module 'cause it loves eating them up,still nothing,swapped out the coil from my b2 and nothing,i was told by a mechanic up here it could be the eec relay.Would that be the culprit,I bought one from carquest but not sure if they gave me the right one or not.It still has the original relay,no numbers etc.Any help would be appreciated,

try this....it may have more info than what you need but...it also work through a lot ignition and shows where to look for diagnosis of what is missing.

SOmething to check is the coil plug-in. I checked some of my plug-ins one day.....plug to coil looked fine...plugged it back in and no start. A friend who does mobil diagnostics looked at it,moved the plug around and it started right up. I put a new one on and its been fine since. Not saying this is your problem but worth checking.

Thanks,I've got it at the shop right now,tired of dickin' with it and I need to get back to work,which is an hour and a half away.
