Hey all, I have an 84 ranger that has been fighting me all summer. Was driving it home and it stalled out on me when leaving an intersection. Weird how the little v6 needs more throttle, when I let out the clutch than my cummins lol. When it stalled I lost ignition. Since then I have traced the green wire that goes to the coil and thats solid, replaced the coil, replaced the distributor and that little plug in pack on it. Still have no spark, not even from the coil wire to the distributor. At this point im at a loss on what to look for or at to diagnose and repair. Any ideas on where to look or things to try would be greatly appreciated, be nice having the truck running again. So im not putting miles on the big diesel.

Do you have power to the coil? IIRC it should have roughly battery voltage on one side with the key one. The other side should "ground" to cause a single spark.

I'm guessing fuses were checked before anything else?

Yes have power to the coil, and to the distributor and re checked the fuses in the cab. Checked to make sure the distributor spins and it does, so pretty much at a loss on what is causing no spark. According to my little diagram though non of the fuses in the cab have anything to do with ignition though. Is there another fuse box hidden somewhere that does?
