Does the 2007 model with the 2.3 have a rev limiter?
I see no redline on the tach and thought that was weird.

All modern cars have a limiter.

I drive an 07 too, had to find so I matted it one day to see. Yes it does have a limiter.

yea its like 5600 er 5800rpm.. these lil engines could prolly spin so much more. wonder how high u could go with out some kind of failure

I used to race the 2.3 in a mini stock on a 3/8 mile dirt track. We had to run stock bottom end. With a 3.55 axle and trans in second gear (2.10), depending on track condition the RPM's stayed between 7500 and 8000. Failures were broken rods first, just below piston pin. Then broken cranks. I broke a #3 rod once, unbolted the head and the block fell apart in 2 pieces. what limits the RPM's is valve train (Valve Float).

Our engines are electronically limited...shuts off the injectors I believe. You're actual redline is above what the tach reads if I recall.
