I've got a 93 ranger. My problem is, i'm not getting any brake fluid to the rear brakes. Is there a different bleeding procedure to try?

theres no special procedure required. if your bleeding it properly, it should take.

hows the pedal feel? if its soft, you may have a bad master cylinder. if its hard, you might have plugged lines or a bad (stuck) proportioning valve.

since i got the fronts bleed, the pedal feels good. thats also what is throwing me off. I took the line off from the proportioning valve and still nothing so next I'll try before the valve see if there's any fluid even reaching it.

I know that when I did mine I had to bleed them forever. Once you disconnect those lines back there and let the fluid drip, it seems to take in a lot of air.

i decided to take the perportioning valve off and check it. It was pretty nasty so i took a chance and took it apart to clean it. Now I have fluid to the back, very little. But now the abs light is on. I'm thinking bad valve. Is that a dealer item?

make sure to check the electrical connection to the valve to be sure you got it plugged in firmly after removing the valve.

the valve isnt a dealer only item. its true name is ABS modulator valve and it'll run about $150 +core. if you dont want to shell out the $$, another option is to replace the valve with a small peice of brake line and remove the ABS bulb.

well i went to the local brakemasters, to have them put the truck on the scan tool, but they didn't have the right plug. So I went and got another modulator from napa. I"ll be putting it on in the next couple of days. I"ll post my result. Any idea on having to bleed the modulator or not. It has some sort of bleeder valve on it. I'm going to try the regular way i know how to bleed brakes first.

ok i changed the modulator valve and the problem is fixed. But thanks for all everyones input.
