No power going to coil

Hi, I durasparked my 2.8 and used the reccomended hot wire for the coil. It worked fine until it lost voltage about a week before I rebuilt my engine. Ive had to use a jumper going from the battery to the coil. Where should I begin to look?

Should be a Red/light green stripe wire, it comes from ignition switch under the steering column in the cab

The older ignition switches have 2 separate wires that power the spark system, one in RUN(red/green) and one in START(brown/pink), but they should be combine in the cab and just the red/green wire in the engine bay would have 12v in both key/switch positions

Im still getting no voltage to the coil. I've followed the wire all the way up the connector in the steering column and no physical damage. Weirdly, it started working for a minute, then stopped after I shut off my engine. Everything in the truck works except for this wire. What could cause this?

Maybe a bad ignition switch... try to wiggle the key and see if the 12 volts comes back to the coil

I finally figured out the problem. The coil wire came loose inside the connector in the steering column. Plugged it back in and now it actually works lol.
