i have a new 302 in my ranger and when its running i have no oil preasure. all the stuff is new. the oil preasure gauge and sending unit is auto meter. i followed the instuctions on how to hook it up but no oil preasure. im running 10w40 oil.

I'm assuming you're running a remote oil filter ? If so, it's likely you have the oil lines reversed. The "out" on the block adapter goes to the "in" on the filter mount, then the "out" on the filter mount goes back to the "in" on the block adapter. If they're crossed, you will not have flow back to the block

i just checked i have out on the block goin to in on the remote mount and out on the mount to in on the block right?

Just swap them and see. I did this with my first swap. Felt like an idiot. Probably do the same with this one too. Just don't run it more than a few seconds. You also might try pulling the distributor and using a drill and I think 5/16 socket on a long extension, spin the oil pump shaft and see what happens. Pull a valve cover too and see if oil is flowing.

Yes, pull a valve cover, stick a drill in the distributor hole and prime the thing!

I think it's a deep 1/4" socket, I've done it a number of times, but I could be wrong on the size.

I did the same thing back in July when I did my swap.
I was 100% sure I had hooked the relocator lines up properly after reading so many times that it is a common mistake.
Fired up the engine and no oil to the rockers....WTF now?!?!

reluctant to switch the oil lines because I was positive I did it the right way the first time, I traded places with them anyway....sure enough, oil squirting all over the rockers and my headers in an instant.

I had to hang my head in shame and conceed that I don't know everything....yet!

Right on, it's a 1/4" drive hex, not 5/16" for a 289/302. 351's are 5/16"
