no lift fender triming for largest tire

ok i am pretty new to the whole ranger scene mostly into fullsizes but i just purchased a 1998 ext. cab 4x4. it was wrecked but still runs and drives. i do not want to put alot of money into it and it will be a trail only rig. i searched but there was not really any helpful info that i could find. i am wondering what the largest tire i could run without major issues would be for 15x7 rims with no lift and i am not afraid to trim the fenders. any help would be appreciated to point me in the right direction. thanks.

with 7 inch wide rims you shouldnt go over 9.5" wide on the tires.

the limiting factor on the tire size is not clearance related, its the strength of the front axle. dont quote me on this but i wouldnt recommend more than a 33 inch tire if your main concern is to not put money into replacing broken front axle parts.

ok but i do not believe they make an aggressive tire in anything narrower than a 10.50 and i believe some guys here are running 10.50 on factory rims.

I've been running 33 x 12.5 on 7 inch rims for the last ten years with no issues. You will have to do some major trimming if you are not going to lift it though.

interco makes a 31x9.50 radial for sure, I believe a 33x9.50(but don't quote me) and definately a 34x9

wow i did not realize they made mud tires that narrow..... but anyways thank you for the replies. do you guys rub anywhere with the 12.50s? and are they road driven mostly or offroad? (not trying to offend anyone) what psi?

i've seen those trucks clear 33's barely with just a torison crank and small blocks.also remember that a 10.5 wide tire is only 8 inches wide and a 12.5 tire is 10 inches wide.so don't get 10 inch rims for the 10.5 tires.actually a 8 inch rim is best for a 33/12.5.bf goodrich makes a narrow 33 also if you want a tire with better street manners.

I have 33/12.50-15 on my 88 Super Cab, cut the flair off the fenders and installed rubber flairs from JC Whitney.

Offset is very important, 2 1/2" was way too much on mine, 4" works well.
