I'm new to the forum, so this may have been posted before and I appologize if it has. I have a 2005 Ranger with the 3.0 automatic. I had the truck two days before the check engine light came on, when it did I drove about ten miles to get home. Now I have no electric power at all , I thought there may be a grounding issue so I have added two new ground straps and that hasn't helped. I also changed the ignition switch and it didn't help. Replaced the battery and no change. Would anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome to TRS :)

No electrical power
That would be battery cables, or DEAD battery

There should be 2 cables coming off the positive battery terminal, the smaller one running to the fuse box is the first one to check, all 12volt power for the vehicle runs on that ONE cable, you need to get into the fuse box to check it for corrosion
The larger positive cable is just for the starter motor, so would only effect starter motor

Next is the battery negative cable, the larger one should run to the engine, usually starter motor bolt, need to remove it and check it for corrosion
Also smaller ground cable, should connected near rad support, remove and clean

....Or a bad alternator...possibly both
