No EGR system

Hello guys.Son has a 94 ranger auto 2.3 liter that needs a smog test.I have tuned it up for the test then noticed the truck has no EGR system.Is this from the factory or did someone remove it.I can,t find any wires for the system and the intake does not look like it has a place to mount the valve.The truck has no codes and runs good.

EGR is added to meet emission levels for federal and/or state in the year and place it was sold new.

So you may not have an EGR.
If it is still there look at the Vacuum diagram on the rad support for an EGR.

There is one here but it doesn't have the Fuel Pressure Regulator listed, so is a bit suspect on accuracy.

Yep the truck never had a EGR. Thanks guys guess I never payed much mind to it

Is it possible to delete the egr out of an 86? From what i've read it just put some exhaust fumes back into the intake or something like that... and I don't see how it is important to have

You can look on the emissions certification label under the hood and it tells you what emissions devices are equipped. It will usually say something like EVP, EGR, HEGO 1,2 or 3 for number of oxygen sensors equipped ect.

You're in California? You probably should put two on instead of taking one off...

Best to check with the State law...check the pollution requirements...if anything like Canada (probably worse) then anything that was installed at production would need to be there...forever!

I hate california Lol and I don't think I'm gonna have to smog it till like '15

Im in Cali too but my truck is from Hawaii. So I get away with it.
