Hi, I just bought a 99 ranger with the 2.5 and automatic. It's a factory A/C delete truck. I have good hot heat at my feet, but I need it at the windshield on cold mornings. The thing is, if I put it on defrost, floor, whatever, it won't blow up at the windshield. Can anyone point me in the direction of which vacuum lines to check or what else to look for? Thanks in advance.

Just to be clear, does every other function work? The vacuum hose that controls the defrost vacuum control motor is red. You can give those a test. I'll post up a chart that shows what hose should have vacuum in what function. In the meantime, if defrost is really needed above all, you can unplug the function selector switch vacuum connector which should default the system to defrost. The connector is located under the dash in the center.

I suppose defrost is all this is really NEEDED, would like to keep the floor heat.. It does have floor, haven't tested the vent heat. Will do that today. Thanks for the info, I'll check the lines and post back with my findings.
