i have an 87 thats been changed over to the r134 but no cold air come out when the ac is turned on. the compressor works and everything and the pressure switch is doing its thing. there is no cold air coming on the evaporator.what kinds of things could be going wrong?

It could be several things. If you could get the pressure readings, it would help and would be the only way to tell what the system is doing. Do any of the lines or the accumulator get cold?:)shady

so the pressure is around 40 but drops down to like 30 when the compressor come on and the line out of the compressor get hot when going and the lind out of the dryer is cold but not really cold. hope that gives you some more info

Need to know the high-side pressure reading also (together with the outside ambient temp).

(If the system pressure is at 40 before you even turn it on, it might be low on freon)

4x4 is right, the big line coming back to the compressor should sweat, you may have air in the system, or your blend door is not moving, does your temp, change with your temp. control?
