No Codes

On my 87 Ranger 4x4 when i hook up my code reader and turn it on, I hear one initial click of a sensor, but thats it. I get NO codes. Truck is running decent, just wanted to check them. Any ideas? Thanks

Have you tried jumping the STI to ground to see if you can get them that way?

so is your CEL on? if not, who cares?
if it is then use the jumper wire method and watch the CEL flash.

When I hook my code reader to mine I get lots of clicks and my fuel pump comes on for a second..and I have no codes.

If the light isn't coming on and you are getting no codes, maybe it's because there are no codes.

Although the single click does sound like the test isn't going through right.
