Just got done putting new shackles and hangers on my truck last week (rusted out) and yesterday my breaks went to the floor. The front passenger side line blew. Thank god it happened in my driveway. The line is all rusted and finally let loose. Is it hard to replace this and does anybody have any helpful hints?

If one line has rusted out, change all the lines while your doing it as the rest are probably in the same state. That way you will only be bleeding brakes once.

if you have not done it yet (you posted almost ten hrs ago) use of penetrating oil (Liberally) is the first recommendation, the next use a line wrench if the shoulders of the fittings are still respectable. say a prayer. is all i have to add.

Where is there a good place to get the lines. Trying to do this on a budget.

Napa sells a good line. O'reilly/Checkers, etc might sell it too. It's green.

Your best bet is to have a line flaring tool. Measure the line from the RABS HCU (that bronze colored block right before the fuel filter) to the rear soft line. Get that much line(but keep in mind it won't be a straight run). Reuse the fitting at the RABS unit and reflare the end. Run it back and plug it in. You might need to use a union to connect 2 shorter pieces.

Got the old line off today. Soaked the hell out of it and all went well. How hard is it going to be to run the new line? It makes a half a dozen bends. I had to cut the old one in three pieces to get it out. I have a feeling this isn't going to be easy.
