I have a 97 Ranger XLT with factory air. PO took it all out, and I don't care about putting it back in. Did they make a heater control panel for trucks without factory AC? I searched but couldn't find any pictures. Thanks!

The non A/C control used a cable to move the temp blend door. A/C control used a electric actuator. So if someone just removed the A/C parts from under the hood and you want to use the non A/C controls you will need the swap the whole heater box and wire harness from a non A/C Ranger.

Great, thanks a lot guys. That brings up another question. The previous owner swapped in a 351. It runs, but I'm working out all the bugs now. The intake is touching the HVAC box under the hood, and there's no room to work over there. Is the heater core/blower motor box smaller on a truck without factory AC? I'm thinking about getting the box and controls from a junkyard and swapping it in. The refrigerant lines are just cut off at the box, and I don't care about having AC. Thanks!

Not having the a/c evaporator housing will give you more room under the hood.

You dont have to change the heater box under the dash.

Just grab a non AC heater panel and change the heater selector knob from cable to electric, thats all you need to do.

My truck came with no AC from factory and I installed the oem AC last year. However I couldnt convert from cable operated to electric blend door, so I just replaced the heater knob and it works perfectly:

Hope it helps man
