no 5th gear

while r/r clutch, i found front input shaft bearing was shot so....r/r'd it, reassembled tranny. now i have no 5th gear. shifter goes into slot but does'nt engage. what did i do wrong?

if there were no parts left over then I'd guess that you didn't align something right in the trans. slipped a gear on backwards maybe? mind you I have never tried to reassemble a tranny so it is truly a guess.

Either you messed with the eccentric (the shaft that the t5h reverse
bellcrank goes on (TATTOO this on your arm "Don't mess with the big Torx nut")

OR you assembled the trans with the 5th reverse shift collar backwards.
