T-case problem?

Hey i have a 02 Ranger and my 4x4 quit one day... i can still hear it clicking in the CM, so i think it's the motor... i already tried cleaning it, but it didn't work out. So i ordered a new one, i hope it works. Just wondering what other people have tried?... cause i know other people have had this problem.. ha

alright so i got the shift motor today, finally! I plugged in the old one in, turn the switch nothing, plugged the new one in and it turns! Okay, so bolt it all up... and no 4x4. No lights, but the CM is still clicking, and the motor is getting power(cause it's turning and working) so does my problem lie elsewhere? inside the T-case? I've checked fuses, will check again... but if nothing turns up... it must be in the t-case? Also, when the motor is off, you should be able to wrench it into 4x4 right? If it doesn't go it must mean there's something wrong with that damn t-case. Thanks.

nope, if its an 02 it has live axles
