Hey guys not sure if this is the right spot for this just let me know, anyway what tuning would need to be done running a 50 shot on a stock 4.0 can you manually retard the ign timing? If not how do you, also what about the fuel and does anyone have a vid of n2o on a 4.0 ford or own one id like to know more about it just lookin for a little extra kick passing those big turd diesal on the freeway

Most people live with what they have or put a turbo or super charger on it. If the trucks are turds, then passing them shouldn't be a problem. My sister has an explorer with a 4.0 and it has no problem passing semi's on the highway.

nos is not really for everyday use it's more for racing,if i were you i would go with a supercharger.

ive been told retard timing 4* per 25hp shot. soo, 50=8* retared. which means timing should be @ 2-3*. although i agree its not for DD
go supercharged

I would do it just for the fun of it, but if you use it every time you need to pass someone, it's going to get pricey. I haven't bought nitrous for a few years now, but last time I bought some it was $4.50 per lb. if you do decide to use it make sure you keep your air fuel ratio a little on the rich side.

Anytime somebody asks about nitrous, jay is on it.

every time u feel the need for speed, the need for more go...dont take viagra, that wont help u.....NOS for teh horse powaz...only thing u may need:cool:

By passing i mean when they are floored and not a semi for a extra kick tuning is my main concern im wondering if a wet shot would be enough for a 35 to 50 spray. I cannot find a supercharger kit for 93-97 ive built a couple turbo hondas in thepast And its not hard at all,but their ecu's are easy to chip and tune right in the car with a wideband im not sure on a ranger i dont even know what obd it is

i had a 93 2.3 ranger with a 75shot dry kit on it and it held up just fine the truck has 150,000miles on it now and i know this because my dad drives it.
i really don't think you will need a wet kit for a 50 shot and i don't understand what you think you have to tune?
what are the specs on your truck that would help.

I have an idea....downshift! :icon_idea:

What gearing do you have?
