Okay, so you guys gave me some really sound advice for my '07 2WD Duratec XLT.

I wound up going with the Trac-Loc and Richmond 4.56 in my originally open 7.5", 3.73 rear end.

Could not be happier, it really woke the little truck up, but now I'm looking forward to some slightly larger tires to even things out a bit.

So, I've narrowed it down to BFG All Terrains, in either 235/75 r15, or 30x9.5x15.

I don't want to loose all the acceleration I gained in the gear swap, but on the stock 225/70 r15's the 4.56 rear end is a bit on the low side for even me.

Any thoughts?:icon_idea:

3.73 to 4.56 is a big jump. U say u have 225-70R 15's stock. This means that 235-75R-15's are 3 sizes bigger and 30 9.5s are 4 sizes bigger.

No no he said 325's... Hell I got 3.73's with 31's and it doesn't even feel that slow... 4.56's is something i'd go with if I wanted 33's.

You would be better off MPG wise with a set of 31x10.50's or 265/75R15's and you would still have really good acceleration

Sorry, got my numbers transposed.

I have the stock 225/70 r15 tires, and am considering 235/75, or 30x9.5x15.

The 3.73 gears just took forever to get going compared to my Rabbit and Corrado, and the 4.56's are just a bit overboard, but zippy. I don't mind having the option of being in 5th by the time I hit 40mph.

Larger tires will even things out a bit, just not sure how big to go.

Well with an I4 I'm not really sure how bad the accel is and what other concider good acceleration... but your also comparing a truck to cars.

My dads golf has more get up and go compared to my truck but I think my truck accelerates pretty fast all the same. I would say 235/75's cause they are cheaper and more common but at the same time they are maybe an inch larger then the tires you currently have? No much of a difference. I barely noticed the difference between 225/75's and 31's.
